-- Apple II Games

 - Using a cross-compiler, Ventzislav Tzvetkov was able to port the Amiga
game Colorix to the Apple II platform. If your French skills are up to it,
a review of the program can be found at:
http://obligement.free.fr/dp/colorix.php (Some success using Google
(http://www.google.com) to make a rough translation of the website can be
made.) The program itself which will run on both 8- and 16-bit Apple II's
can be downloaded at: http://drhirudo.hit.bg/apple/Colorix.zip

 - The ever-popular Silvern Castle has also been upgraded to version 8.1.
Author Jeff Fink has added several improvements to the game including
preloading to a /RAM volume, different difficulty modes, and automatic
door unlocking. The new version of the game can be found at:
http://www.a2central.com/filemgmt_data/files/scupdv81.bxy

- If you have access to a CD-ROM for your Apple IIGS, you might be
interested in Scott Alfter's freeware utility that will allow you to burn
a mix of ProDOS and HFS partitions to a CD and make a bootable GS/OS 6.0.1
disk. The program has been tested under Windows and Linux and should work
under MacOS, but no reports have yet been made regarding this. The
utility can be found at: http://alfter.us/files/prodos-parttbl-gen.tar.gz

- GS/OS programmers interested in customizing the "loading thermometer"
might be interested in Kelvin Sherlock's custom Apple IIGS control that
creates a rotating barberpole-type progress bar. This freeware release
also includes an NDA that shows how to use it. It can be downloaded from
the file library in Syndicomm Online's A2 forum, in the
programming/a2pro_general_files/source.code.samples directory. Membership
in Syndicomm is required to access this area--please see
http://www.syndicomm.com for signup information.

- BBS users may want to check out George Powell's Fruity Dog CD offering.
This FidoNet mail program source code as freeware. If you've ever
considered setting up your own BBS, this 640 meg CD contains several
programs, games, utilities and information that would help you to do this.
The CD is priced at $5.00. Contact Mr. Powell directly for more
information at: yllar@yllar.mine.nu

- Apple II Networking News

 - Apple II News and Notes Publisher Ryan Suenaga has released two Apple
IIGS NDA's that would be of interest to those who have networked their

displays the IP address of the IIgs you're using. Requires System 6.0.1
and Marinetti 2.0 or later, as well as a working TCP/IP connection.
Download it at: http://lamp.a2central.com/MyIPNDA.BXY. TheirIP.NDA will
resolve domain names and give numeric IP addresses and can be found at:
http://lamp.a2central.com/ryans_software/MyIP.NDA.

 - LanceHack, an AppleSoft BASIC program by Geoff Weiss is a program that

can connect to any remote computer running a VNC server, which is
available for many different computer platforms including Mac OS X, Mac OS
9, Microsoft Windows, and various types of Unix and Linux running X Window
System to display and interact with that computer's graphical
desktop environment. The program can be downloaded at:
http://www.syndicomm.com/~s.heumann/VNCviewGSb1.bxy

some of the presentations made during 2004. So far two disks in the video

author who has rewritten a substantial amount of the core emulation code
for version 1.12.04. The new version can be downloaded from
http://www.tomcharlesworth.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ Suggestions for new
